What to expect during
breath and bodywork class
Breathwork practices spark great interest, but many people aren’t sure what to expect during the sessions. What should you wear? What will you do? Are there any physical fitness requirements?
The main thing to know
Breathing practices are accessible to everyone!
Don’t worry about your physical condition—anyone can participate! Never went to the gym? it’s fine.
Haven’t done meditation or yoga? It’s not the same thing so don’t worry.
In fact, since 80% of people breathe incorrectly and inefficiently, my method is essentially recommended for all, especially those living in big cities, breathing polluted air, being sedentary, and experiencing high stress levels.
Assessment
and goal setting
In our first session, we will perform an assessment to understand your starting point and define your initial goals. Together, we will establish and document the objectives you aim to achieve.
We'll start by discussing your experiences, challenges, and session goals. This is a safe space where you can open up and be heard. We’ll analyze your breathing and your nervous system to evaluate your current breathing patterns and address any issues that may be affecting your health and well-being.
Typical Breathwork session goes like this
A standard session begins with an energizing breathing exercise to get going, followed by a review of homework questions, a warm-up, and a series of exercises designed to improve the functioning of respiratory muscles and relieve muscle tension. The primary goal of the warm-up is to prepare your body for breathing.
All exercises are aimed at enhancing body flexibility, and improving blood circulation, lymph flow, and energy circulation.
Chest muscle tension relief exercises
Diaphragmatic breathing activation
CO2 and O2
balancing exercises
Balance, core
and stability work
Stretching and strengthening of breathing muscles
Lower-body breathwork
Clothing and props
No special equipment is required for the sessions. Everything you need is likely already at home
- Comfortable clothing that doesn’t constrict your chest
- A yoga mat or a blanket

- An elastic band or a bathrobe belt

Breathwork is crucial for our mental and emotional well-being because how we breathe directly impacts how we feel. If we want to feel good, we must master the art of breathing. As Dan Brulé, a pioneer in breathwork and author of Just Breathe, beautifully puts it: "Every psychological, emotional, and physiological state has a corresponding or connected breathing pattern. The way we breathe when we are calm and peaceful is different from how we breathe when we are angry or upset.”
Your mind is doing its job—trying to protect you. It’s important to understand whether it's your mind creating chaos or your body resisting the breathwork. During these practices, pay attention to your body. If you haven't done this before, discomfort is a natural response. Over time, it will become easier and less overwhelming.
My Method is a holistic approach to health that combines variety of breathing, meditation, physical, and energy practices. I incorporate a mix of Buteyko, Oxygen Advantage, YogaBody, Wim Hof, Strelnikova Breathing, Roman Karlovsky's EnergyBreathing, along with Taoist and martial arts practices, Pelvic floor health, neuro-dynamic exercises, myofascial release, and elements of Yoga and Pilates.
